The Bread That Crossed the Fence

In a Filipino fishing town, rival families divided the shoreline with bamboo fences. One side attended the small Adventist chapel; the other, the Catholic parish. After a typhoon destroyed half the boats, neither side could fish. On Sabbath morning, the chapel women baked all the flour they had left into bread and carried it—still steaming—to the parish courtyard. No words, only baskets.

The priest wept. The next day the parish youth joined the chapel's rebuilding project. Together they restored every damaged boat, painting them a single color—blue for the sea that had humbled them all.

A local reporter asked who organized the cooperation. They answered, "The storm did—and God finished it."
